OPINION: Paying for public retirees has never cost L.A. taxpayers more. And that’s after pension reform

Los Angeles pension costs now cost the city 20 percent of its revenue, and reforms t0uted by city leaders will not produce savings for decades, reports the Los Angeles Times. Pensions cost Los Angeles taxpayers over $1 billion and the percentage of revenues dedicated to pensions has increased sharply in recent years.
