Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association seeks an attorney for its Sacramento office.
The duties of this position include litigating cases in trial and appellate courts, writing amicus briefs, analyzing and drafting legislation, and answering legal inquiries from the press and general public.
While fresh law school graduates are eligible and should apply, it is advantageous to have litigation experience and familiarity with the legislative process. The job requires concise, grammatically correct writing skills, self-motivation, time management, and workload organization.
Applicants should feel comfortable working in a politically conservative, family-friendly environment.
Salary is negotiable, depending on qualifications, and is competitive with other nonprofit organizations. It includes paid vacation, free covered parking, health, dental and vision insurance after probation.
