OPINION: State needs transportation reform and better priorities, not tax increases, to fix infrastructure
California has long deferred maintenance on its infrastructure and now it has reached a critical point. The Los Angeles Daily News reports that California needs $187 billion to repair its transportation and water infrastructure. Democrats are looking into raising taxes to cover the costs, while another proposal could be submitted that California needs to better manage the money it already takes in to provide maintenance on infrastructure.
