OPINION: Pensions: When you can’t trust the trustees

City Journal Senior Editor and Manhattan Institute Senior Fellow Steve Malanga writes in Public Sector Inc. that the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) board is dominated by beneficiaries who make questionable recommendations. Malanga says pension board members should be more accountable to taxpayers who may be required to pay more if pension funds are managed poorly.
