OPINION: No gas taxation without better representation

This year, a 12 cent per gallon tax was passed by the California legislature to help fix California’s crumbling infrastructure. However, vocal critics like John Cox, a gubernatorial candidate, point out that this new tax revenue will go into the state’s General Fund. Cox writes in the Orange County Register that since the money is going to the General Fund, there is no guarantee it will actually go towards fixing roads.
