Silicon Valley is currently in the midst of a hiring spree and is creating even more wealth for the state’s wealthiest residents. However, blue collar communities continue to suffer high unemployment due to the state’s failure to create new industrial jobs, writes Steven Malanga in City Journal. Over 1,500 firms have left California since 2008 citing the state’s high taxes and burdensome regulations, but the political leadership refuses to admit a problem exists.
