NEWS: Tax breaks for second homes could end under lawmaker’s proposal to fund low-income housing

When California needs to find more funding, inevitably it leads to a new tax. This time, Californians who own a second home are no longer able to deduct the interest from the second home’s mortgage off their taxes. The state believes this will bring in $300 million in tax revenue which will be put towards low-income housing.
