NEWS: Senate Leader Dismisses Idea of Using Cap-and-Trade Funds for Road Repairs

Senator Kevin de Leon has announced he opposes a Republican plan to use cap and trade revenue to improve California roads, reports Streetsblog California.  Senator de Leon is instead backing a proposal currently under consideration that would raise gas taxes on California motorists by 12 cents a gallon.  However, this plan will need at least some Republican support to pass and Republican Senate Leader Bob Huff has stated members of his caucus will not back new taxes.
