NEWS: Pain At The Pump: How Much More Californians May Soon Be Shelling Out To Fuel Up
Recent decisions by policymakers to increase gas taxes and extend the state’s cap and trade program will lead to up to $1 a gallon in higher gas prices by 2031, according to estimates by the nonpartisan Legislative Analysts Office. Gas tax legislation also eliminated the complicated “fuel tax swap,” which will result in a further estimated tax increase of 5.6 cents a gallon, reports Patch.com.
