NEWS: Oakland to use Soda Tax “Bait-and-Switch” to cover deficit

In November, Oakland approved a new soda tax to fund health spending, but they also have a $32 million budget deficit. Breitbart reports that Oakland Mayor, Libby Schaaf, wants to use money raised by the soda tax to help fund Oakland’s next budget. Critics say that rising union wages and pension costs are the reason Oakland’s budget is short on money.
