NEWS: Chicago property tax bills going up 10 percent this year

The city of Chicago is looking for a way to pay fire, police, and teacher pensions and is enacting a 10% increase in property taxes to pay them. Chicago homes are reassessed every 3 years with the tax bills reflecting a different area of the city. Critics say that homes can be taxed a higher percentage if they are worth more than other homes.
