NEWS: Cap-and-Trade Costing California Drivers $2 Billion in Higher Gas Prices

A recent report from the Legislative Analyst has revealed California’s hidden gas tax costs consumers $2 billion annually, according to a press release by Senator Patricia Bates published in the Sierra Sun Times.  The hidden gas tax, which is part of the state’s cap and trade program, currently costs consumers approximately 11 cents a gallon at the pump, but is not disclosed with other gas taxes.
