NEWS: Analyst: Wage hike would cost California taxpayers $3.6B

A report from the nonpartisan legislative analyst has revealed a decision by the state’s political leadership to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour will eventually cost taxpayers $3.6 billion a year in higher government employee salaries, according to the Washington Post.  Proponents argue the minimum wage increase will help people earn more, but many economists argue the policy will instead cause job losses and increase costs for consumers.
