Whenever there is a local tax increase the buzz is that it will fix -insert problem here-. However, a closer look at California’s local tax increases on the ballot show it might do the opposite. These tax increases say they might fix a problem, like kids drinking too much soda, but in reality, the money raised by these taxes can also be put towards constantly growing pension plans for public workers.
