California is a highly taxed state, so it makes sense that Los Angeles is a highly taxed area as well. Critics at City Watch say that public services are being ignored as Los Angeles tries to fulfill it’s growing pension contributions. All told, Los Angeles’ tax burden from the County, State, and other entities has swelled to $1.6 billion not including local taxes. A family of four in Los Angeles pays almost $1600 a year in taxes just to these entities.
