This year, California voters passed over 90% of proposed local bonds and over 70% of proposed local taxes. Much attention was given to Prop 55. and the extension of the tax increase on the wealthier Californians, but less noise was made about these local bonds and taxes. These bonds and taxes equate to $5 billion in new taxes on every Californian, not just the wealthy.
