Liberal billionaire Tom Steyer has announced plans to raise oil taxes by $2 billion while ironically saying at the same time that he is concerned about recent increases in the price of gas, writes Brian McNicoll in HumanEvents.com. Steyer says the rise in gas prices is the result of a conspiracy by oil companies, but objective analyses by the Los Angeles Times and Sacramento Bee say the actual cause is a combination of such factors as the expensive summer blend refiners are required by law to produce and some of the nation’s highest gas taxes.
