State officials have settled a lawsuit brought by minority students who argued their local public schools failed to deliver a quality education, reports CalWatchdog. The students’ testimony that they were assigned to fake classes and were unable to sign up for classes needed to graduate garnered attention from national press and prompted legislation banning classes “without educational content.”
