As of February 5, 2018, California legislators are proposing a tax bill that would impose a sales and use tax on purchases of services by businesses for benefit and use in California, reports the National Law Review. The tax would go into effect Jan. 1, 2019, with an impact on businesses in legal, accounting, maintenance, real estate brokerage, consulting, IT support, cloud computing, and advertising fields.
