OPINION: What’s really driving California’s minimum wage hike?

While proponents of California’s new law increasing the minimum wage to $15 an hour say the plan will help lift people out of poverty, economists and business owners say the new law will actually cost jobs and harm the economy, writes Chuck DeVore in the Washington Examiner.  However, some people argue since the law is counterproductive, the real goal is simply to increase the clout of government employee unions.
