OPINION: Four bills could wrap charter schools in red tape

New proposals under consideration by the California Legislature could impose new restrictions on charter schools that could reduce their effectiveness, reports John Seiler of CalWatchdog.com.  Seiler says charter schools are growing quickly by empowering parents and students, but have received opposition from teachers unions.  Governor Brown has been a strongly supporter of charter schools and may decline to sign the proposed restrictions if they arrive at his desk.
